Abstract:
Anknuepfend an die aktuelle Diskussion von Problemen der ethischen Erziehung werden die theoretischen Konzeptionen der moralischen Entwicklung und Sozialisation von Durkheim, Piaget und Kohlberg skizziert. Es wird nachzuweisen versucht, dass eine ethische Erziehung allein auf der Basis kultureller Ueberlieferungen in differenzierteren Industriegesellschaften kaum erfolgreich sein kann und daher Ansaetze einer prinzipienorientierten moralischen Erziehung vorzuziehen sind. Dabei werden auch an Kohlbergs Ansatz einige Kritikpunkte herausgearbeitet. (Zeitschrift/Joachim H. Becker - ZPID)For a long time the question how to stimulate the intellectual capacity of children dominated the discussions in socialization research and education. Recently, however, the focus of attention has shifted to ethics education, and the Kohlberg approach to principle-oriented moral education has been regarded to be of particular relevance. In this article the theoretical conceptions of moral development and socialization according to Durkheim, Piaget, and Kohlberg are outlined, and it is shown that in highly differentiated industrial societies a concept of ethics education which is grounded on cultural traditions alone cannot be successful. Rather, a conception of principle-oriented moral education should be preferred. Finally, some critical issues yet unresolved in Kohlberg's theory are pointed out. (Journal abstract - ZPID)
